about

Cute Things is the art of Chris Censullo.

Chris grew up in the imaginary world’s of children’s books, comics and animation, which sparked a lifelong love of drawing. The term "cute things" was a term he adopted as a child, to describe a cartoon character, stuffed animal or cereal box mascot (yes, really!) that appealed to him. Now it's what he calls his art. Chris' drawing style is heavily influenced by anime and he considers Jim Henson to be his greatest creative inspiration. Through high school and art school he worked in the children’s department of the Watertown (MA) Public Library Children's Department and fell deeper in love with picture books.

The realization of a lifelong dream occurred in 2013, with the publishing of The Boy with the Big Blue Hair, his first picture book. He followed up on that with Tin Can in 2015.

Chris lives and creates in Waltham, MA with Chibi, his feline companion. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
